No, it really wouldn't. Note that how ever many times Anet has said that there is nothing more than scaling loot based on party size in effect how many (and to some extent including yourself) refuse to accept that? After that it really doesn't matter if they do some type of "GPH" scaling or simply add in invisible hench to fill out the rest of the party. There is no real reason that more detail would help you figure anything out, other than to not farm certain areas (but we already know that anyway).
Then there are things like believing that the more people farming an area the worse they drop and Anet has said "no" to that (without convincing anyone who believed as such) since the very beginning. Heck, they could release the source code and I bet most would still find some reason for them to be lieing - note that some consider this to be "only logical" and you are an idiot if you believe them.
My necro has farmed the crap out of the the six jade knights outside of Waijuun Bazaar for quite a while now, I still take the consistent 8-10k/hour I did in the very beginning. I will sometimes go a few hours without a single gold and have had as many as 12 gold armors in an hour (and that one time nothing but armors - which is "strange"). It would be hard to do a less bot like farm. There are quite a few other people do the same thing, the person who pointed it out had farmed nearly 300k in that area.
More detail would be interesting to those of us who tend to figure Anet isn't feeding us a load of junk, but it would do nothing to alleviate the problem and wouldn't change anything. The only real question is mass killing vs single enemy at a time and there is plenty of data that shows your GPH to be pretty much the same.
